Lovecouch

THE STORY

Before Lovecouch became a project, it was a presence on Bay Area stages. He’s played rooms like the Madrone Art Bar and The Starry Plough, sharing bills with artists including Honey Plant and building a reputation for shows that feel loose, lively, and musically sharp. His time studying music at San Francisco State University helped deepen his sense of harmony and arrangement, giving him the tools to balance groove, humor, and sophistication in a way that feels effortless onstage.

Music got its hooks into Lovecouch early. As a baby, he would finish the melodies his father sang from Peter and the Wolf, already sensing how sound could twist, turn, and tell a story. That instinct — to create, reshape, and create again — has followed him ever since.

Lovecouch makes playful, groove-heavy music that blends disco, funk, and electronic textures with a wink. His songs are fun and often humorous, but behind the jokes is a deep appreciation for musical craft. He grew up loving Steely Dan’s harmonic tricks, Michael Jackson’s production energy, the warmth of Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra, and the emotional sweep of classical composers like Schubert, Chopin, and Tchaikovsky. Those influences aren’t copied — they’re folded into a modern sound that’s danceable, colorful, and intentionally light on its feet.

At the heart of Lovecouch’s work is a simple idea: great music never really disappears. It evolves. His songs pull threads from the past and weave them into something new, something that feels both nostalgic and fresh. He wants listeners to feel joy, to feel seen, and to recognize that the musical traditions they grew up with still have plenty to say — especially when delivered with a sense of humor and a wink.

Lovecouch is here to make people move, smile, and remember why music feels so good in the first place.

With new momentum building, Lovecouch is preparing to release his next wave of work. His holiday single “Little Man Christmas” arrives this December, alongside a full album slated for release before the end of the year. It marks the next step in his evolving sound — playful, heartfelt, and unmistakably Lovecouch.
